I'm Damian Hinks

For over 20 years I've been on quite a journey, as a leader, facilitator, and educator, helping people thrive through transformation and growth. This is a hub, I suppose—a place where I bring my passions and experiences together to share what I do, and where to best find me should you need me.

Right now, I'm buzzing (with excitement, and caffeine) working with great creative people in growth-stage studios, helping them achieve more money, freedom and meaning.


The Commercial Creative  is purpose-built for the creative business community—it's a gathering of creative business owners and entrepreneurial spirits that gives them a environment and coaching program that helps them connect, learn and grow. It's for designers, marketers, or agency owners– a hub for business inspiration and success.

My background and career has been a whirlwind of roles—startup owner, freelance consultant, business development guy and business director. Each experience has shaped my entrepreneurial spirit and fuelled my passion for business as a path to personal joy.


  • Building a consulting brand business model from the ground-up, from systems to sales to communities with the other founders at Philotimo Global
  • Led a brilliant team of UX designers and researchers focused on user-centered design, creating impactful online experiences for health, Government & education organisations at Thirst Studios.
  • Directed the Australian business of a global and leading brand consultancy, delivering transformative strategies for the world's largest brands at Elmwood Brand Consultancy.
  • Took the reigns of a hard hitting and thriving UX agency, achieving significant growth, key clients and an enviable trajectory at Carter Digital.
  • Streamlined an untameable studio with production workflows and quality standards for brand projects at Cornwell Design.
  • Founded, built and managed a live-music recording venture, hanging out with international artists, empowering them with new distribution opportunities (despite being tone deaf) at Liveband.
